THE CHALLENGE OF SUSTAINABLE CITIES :
how can we build resilience into the cities of tomorrow?

Today, nearly 55 % of the world's population live in urban areas. This proportion is expected to rise to between 70 and 80 % by 2050. Sustainable cities are part of a genuine political project that must guide policies on urban development and access to services and infrastructures in the fields of health, education, transport and so on. Bringing together a wide range of players, cities are a decisive place for mobilizing future generations and implementing actions that will enable cities to become carbon-neutral.

The concept of the sustainable city revolves around a number of issues, including the importance of enhancing the value of built and natural heritage (heritage protection and rehabilitation, responsible tourism and economy, development of structuring public facilities), developing access to culture for local populations, and capitalizing on the history of each territory.

How can we renew urban planning for livable cities?

How can we plan the territory of tomorrow?

How can we create resilient infrastructures adapted to tomorrow's world?

How can culture and heritage serve as levers for the development of more resilient cities?
