Joachim Ntetmen
With basic training in social psychology, he began his career in 2004 with a human training program that he designed and led, and declined into some thirty sessions, of which a dozen were developed and led. In 2005, as a staff member of a psychology association, he joined the HIV community care team within the framework of the Global Fund, and was assigned to the Laquintinie Hospital, which at the time managed the largest HIV active file in Cameroon. Five years later, he was recruited as a psychosocial counselor at Alternatives-Cameroun, managing the psychological and social care unit. In this capacity, he takes part in the 2011 IBBS survey and coaches new trainees. In 2012, he was seconded to Care Cameroun to coordinate the HIV Prevention Program in three regions of Cameroon. In this position, he leads a mission to evaluate the project's CPSs and writes a manual for this purpose. He also led another national mission to define services adapted to key populations. At the end of his time at Care, he began working as a consultant, including for Alternatives, where he returned in 2015 as psychologist and coordinator of the paramedical unit. Since 2016, he has been the Association's first Program Director. He is now stepping up staff training and coaching. With the Initiative-funded Proximité project, he is a capacity-building expert in community health, gender and human rights. He contributes to sharing Alternatives' expertise nationally and internationally. He offers consultations and training to various structures, and reinforces advocacy activities for a favorable environment for vulnerable populations.
