Laurent Marion joined Expertise France in November 2018 as Head of the Stabilization and Resilience cluster after a career spent in the field in crisis and post-crisis countries with international organizations. As a post-crisis recovery advisor for the United Nations Development Programme, he worked for over fifteen years on issues of democratic governance, reconstruction, economic recovery and stabilization in Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, Palestine, Jordan and Haiti. Laurent Marion was a lecturer at Sciences-Po Lille, Lyon and Rennes on fragile states and the humanitarian-development nexus. As head of the Stabilization and Resilience Unit, he coordinates Expertise France's work on stabilization, local recovery and civil society issues in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and the Central African Republic, as well as on the security-development nexus in the Sahel.
