It is an instrument of public policy that can promote social justice, in response to structural or cyclical imbalances. It can also be a vector for citizen participation, and a condition for acceptance of the legitimacy of institutions.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In other words, paying taxes means accepting the social contract and giving ourselves the means to live together.<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If, as we have said, taxation plays a particular role in the construction of society, is low tax pressure systematically synonymous with a weakened social contract?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are the implications of these figures for living together in countries that collect less?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the political and institutional instability characterized by several coups d&#8217;\u00e9tat in the sub-region, indirectly, a manifestation of the difficulties experienced by countries in proposing a healthy and fair social contract?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should the effectiveness of a tax policy be judged solely on the basis of the revenue raised?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categorie_d_evenement":[149,150,147],"zone-geographique":[156],"class_list":["post-16314","registration-page","type-registration-page","status-publish","hentry","categorie_d_evenement-development-en","categorie_d_evenement-governance-en","categorie_d_evenement-social-en","zone-geographique-africa"],"acf":{"titre_de_la_categorie_de_sujet_register":"Taxation and social contract","titre_alternatif":"#RDVExpertise","webinar_title":"What taxation to strengthen the social contract?","reportage":false,"etat_evenement":"Replay","afficher_qr_code":false,"resume":"Taxation mobilizes the resources needed for government action.
