decades, inequalities between men and women persist, particularly in terms of health.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Recent epidemics, as well as structural challenges related to health systems, serve as a reminder that health issues are never neutral: they are embedded in social, economic and cultural relationships that affect women, men and gender minorities differently. <strong>In many contexts, women face structural barriers to accessing health services:<\/strong> restrictive social norms, heavy domestic burdens, economic dependence, gender-based violence. Men, for their part, may face other social determinants: masculine norms that discourage them from seeking care, increased exposure to certain occupational risks, or risky behaviours encouraged by certain representations of masculinity. The research community is still struggling with this issue: 60% of drugs are tested in clinical trials where women are under-represented, while most of these trials do not analyse gender differences.  <\/p>\n<p>In light of these findings, the systematic integration of a gender perspective into global health policies and programmes is no longer an option but a necessity. So how can this be put into practice in the field? <strong>How can it be brought more directly to international forums for better consideration by decision-makers? <\/strong>With the end of 2025 marked by numerous international highlights related to global health and the fight for gender equality, such as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November to 10 December), the 8th replenishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and World AIDS Day on 1 December, this event provided an opportunity to address issues related to gender mainstreaming in global health policies.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">L&#8217;\u00e9mission du 4 d\u00e9cembre a permis de d\u00e9battre et d&#8217;\u00e9changer pendant 1h30 sur la sant\u00e9 mondiale et les enjeux de genre. Apr\u00e8s un entretien avec J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Pellet, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d&#8217;Expertise France, dans lequel il a pu rappeler l&#8217;importante int\u00e9gration du genre de mani\u00e8re transversale dans l\u2019ensemble de nos interventions sur le terrain, et particuli\u00e8rement en sant\u00e9 mondiale o\u00f9 ces enjeux sont extr\u00eamement sensibles, Gallagher Fenwick, le mod\u00e9rateur de l&#8217;\u00e9mission, s&#8217;est tourn\u00e9e vers 3 intervenants pour la <strong>premi\u00e8re table-ronde sur les barri\u00e8res li\u00e9es au genre dans l&#8217;acc\u00e8s aux soins et les solutions<\/strong>. Pr\u00e9sent en plateau, Elian Passier, r\u00e9f\u00e9rent genre \u00e0 M\u00e9decins du Monde &#8211; France, a commenc\u00e9 par pr\u00e9senter l&#8217;approche genre intersectionnelle de l&#8217;ONG et comment elle est appliqu\u00e9e dans ses programmes en C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, Madagascar ou encore au Mexique mais aussi la mise en place d&#8217;<strong>outils pour r\u00e9duire les violences et am\u00e9liorer l&#8217;acc\u00e8s aux soins pour les femmes et les minorit\u00e9s de genre<\/strong>, comme des ateliers d&#8217;auto-d\u00e9fense. Connect\u00e9e depuis Lyon, Charlotte Berquin, sp\u00e9cialiste Localisation, Genre et Inclusion \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de l\u2019OMS, a ensuite soulign\u00e9 l&#8217;importance d&#8217;adapter les formations \u00e0 destination du personnel de sant\u00e9 aux diff\u00e9rents contextes culturels, linguistiques et sociaux des pays d&#8217;intervention mais \u00e9galement comment <strong>l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie int\u00e8gre de mani\u00e8re syst\u00e9matique l&#8217;approche genre en sant\u00e9<\/strong> dans ses cours. Gisele Umutoniwase, Directrice de programmes au Centre de Ressources pour les hommes au Rwanda (RWAMREC), a quant \u00e0 elle appuy\u00e9 sur<strong> la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de mobiliser les hommes dans la lutte contre les violences bas\u00e9es sur le genre (VBG) et les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s en sant\u00e9. <\/strong>     <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nous avons \u00e9galement eu le plaisir de retrouver une partenaire de longue date de l&#8217;agence du projet Pour Elles : Sport et culture et \u00e9galement intervenante lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie des 10 ans d&#8217;Expertise France en f\u00e9vrier 2025, G\u00e9raldine Tob\u00e9. Artiste plasticienne, connect\u00e9e en direct depuis Kinshasa, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC), elle nous a notamment pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 son projet<strong> &#8220;Handicap Mental&#8221;, qui utilise l\u2019art comme outil psychoth\u00e9rapeutique pour accompagner les personnes marginalis\u00e9es et briser les tabous autour de la sant\u00e9 mentale des femmes en Afrique de l&#8217;Ouest. <\/strong>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En deuxi\u00e8me partie d&#8217;\u00e9mission, nous avons accueilli 4 intervenantes pour \u00e9changer sur l&#8217;\u00e9tape apr\u00e8s avoir eu acc\u00e8s aux soins : <strong>les biais existants dans la qualit\u00e9 des soins prodigu\u00e9s<\/strong>. Etaient avec nous en plateau Anne-Sophie Grenouilleau-Albertini, conseill\u00e8re pharmaceutique \u00e0 la Haute Autorit\u00e9 de Sant\u00e9 (HAS) et r\u00e9dactrice du rapport \u00ab Sexe, genre et sant\u00e9 \u00bb (2020), et Prof. Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent, Cheffe Sage-femme \u00e0 la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale des sages-femmes (ICM), tandis que M\u00e9lanie Samson, Responsable Technique Senior, Sant\u00e9 des Femmes \u00e0 la Fondation mondiale de la Chirurgie, et Kady Kourouma, Responsable Offre de services Sant\u00e9 sexuelle et reproductive chez Solthis, \u00e9taient connect\u00e9es depuis Gen\u00e8ve et Abidjan. Cette table-ronde a permis \u00e0 Anne-Sophie Grenouilleau-Albertini de souligner pour elle l&#8217;importance de distinguer les notions de sexe (biologique, anatomique et chromosomique) et genre (social) afin de<strong> concevoir des politiques de sant\u00e9 plus justes et inclusives<\/strong> de toutes les populations mais \u00e9galement des actions de la HAS pour<strong> lutter contre les biais de genre dans la recherche et au sein du corps m\u00e9dical<\/strong>, comme le d\u00e9ploiement de campagnes de sensibilisation. Prof. Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent a, elle, mis en avant <strong>les disparit\u00e9s criantes dans les taux de mortalit\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle mondiale<\/strong> (1 sur 100 000 en Norv\u00e8ge contre 1 000 pour 100 000 au Tchad par exemple) et le travail de l&#8217;ICM pour former et ainsi donner aux sages-femmes dans les pays \u00e0 faibles revenus plus de pouvoir d&#8217;agir pour am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des soins maternels. Repr\u00e9sentant la Fondation mondiale de la Chirurgie, M\u00e9lanie Samson a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 l&#8217;approche holistique et centr\u00e9e sur les femmes de son organisation dans ses pays d&#8217;intervention comme le Kenya, le N\u00e9pal ou le Nig\u00e9ria, et <strong>sa lutte pour d\u00e9stigmatiser l&#8217;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la c\u00e9sarienne ou encore pour briser le tabou de la d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/strong>. Enfin, Kady Kourouma a elle aussi mis en avant les actions de Solthis pour lutter contre les biais dans les soins m\u00e9dicaux, notamment pour<strong> d\u00e9construire les repr\u00e9sentations stigmatisantes des soignants envers les travailleuses du sexe<\/strong>, dont les besoins en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 sexuelle et reproductive sont tr\u00e8s souvent non couverts, principalement sur le manque de pr\u00e9vention des IST\/MST ou encore les tests ou suivi de grossesse.       <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ce #RDV s&#8217;est conclu par la s\u00e9quence &#8220;Perspective&#8221; avec l&#8217;intervention du Fonds Mondial de lutte contre le sida, la tuberculose et le paludisme, repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Michelle Remme, Responsable du groupe th\u00e9matique sur les droits humains, l&#8217;\u00e9galit\u00e9 de genre et l&#8217;\u00e9quit\u00e9 en sant\u00e9. Michelle Remme a ainsi pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 <strong>ce partenariat mondial unique en faveur de la solidarit\u00e9 et de l&#8217;\u00e9quit\u00e9 en sant\u00e9, qui a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 sauver 70 millions de vie depuis sa cr\u00e9ation.<\/strong> Dans un contexte international de fortes perturbations, notamment financi\u00e8res, le Fonds Mondial continue de travailler avec ses partenaires pour maintenir l&#8217;acc\u00e8s aux soins essentiels aux populations les plus vuln\u00e9rables pour lutter contre les trois pand\u00e9mies mais \u00e9galement r\u00e9duire les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s de progress has been made in global health over the past few decades, inequalities between men and women persist, particularly in terms of health.<\/strong><\/h3>\nRecent epidemics, as well as structural challenges related to health systems, serve as a reminder that health issues are never neutral: they are embedded in social, economic and cultural relationships that affect women, men and gender minorities differently. <strong>In many contexts, women face structural barriers to accessing health services:<\/strong> restrictive social norms, heavy domestic burdens, economic dependence, gender-based violence. Men, for their part, may face other social determinants: masculine norms that discourage them from seeking care, increased exposure to certain occupational risks, or <g id=\"gid_2\">risky behaviours encouraged by certain representations of masculinity<\/g>. The research community is still struggling with this issue: 60% of drugs are tested in clinical trials where women are under-represented, while most of these trials do not analyse gender differences.  \n\nIn light of these findings, the systematic integration of a gender perspective into global health policies and programmes is no longer an option but a necessity. So how can this be put into practice in the field? <strong>How can it be brought more directly to international forums for better consideration by decision-makers? <\/strong>With the end of 2025 marked by numerous international highlights related to global health and the fight for gender equality, such as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November to 10 December), the 8th replenishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and World AIDS Day on 1 December, this event provided an opportunity to address issues related to gender mainstreaming in global health policies.\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L'\u00e9mission du 4 d\u00e9cembre a permis de d\u00e9battre et d'\u00e9changer pendant 1h30 sur la sant\u00e9 mondiale et les enjeux de genre. Apr\u00e8s un entretien avec J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Pellet, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d'Expertise France, dans lequel il a pu rappeler l'importante int\u00e9gration du genre de mani\u00e8re transversale dans l\u2019ensemble de nos interventions sur le terrain, et particuli\u00e8rement en sant\u00e9 mondiale o\u00f9 ces enjeux sont extr\u00eamement sensibles, Gallagher Fenwick, le mod\u00e9rateur de l'\u00e9mission, s'est tourn\u00e9e vers 3 intervenants pour la <strong>premi\u00e8re table-ronde sur les barri\u00e8res li\u00e9es au genre dans l'acc\u00e8s aux soins et les solutions<\/strong>. Pr\u00e9sent en plateau, Elian Passier, r\u00e9f\u00e9rent genre \u00e0 M\u00e9decins du Monde - France, a commenc\u00e9 par pr\u00e9senter l'approche genre intersectionnelle de l'ONG et comment elle est appliqu\u00e9e dans ses programmes en C\u00f4te d'Ivoire, Madagascar ou encore au Mexique mais aussi la mise en place d'<strong>outils pour r\u00e9duire les violences et am\u00e9liorer l'acc\u00e8s aux soins pour les femmes et les minorit\u00e9s de genre<\/strong>, comme des ateliers d'auto-d\u00e9fense. Connect\u00e9e depuis Lyon, Charlotte Berquin, sp\u00e9cialiste Localisation, Genre et Inclusion \u00e0 l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de l\u2019OMS, a ensuite soulign\u00e9 l'importance d'adapter les formations \u00e0 destination du personnel de sant\u00e9 aux diff\u00e9rents contextes culturels, linguistiques et sociaux des pays d'intervention mais \u00e9galement comment <strong>l'Acad\u00e9mie int\u00e8gre de mani\u00e8re syst\u00e9matique l'approche genre en sant\u00e9<\/strong> dans ses cours. Gisele Umutoniwase, Directrice de programmes au Centre de Ressources pour les hommes au Rwanda (RWAMREC), a quant \u00e0 elle appuy\u00e9 sur<strong> la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de mobiliser les hommes dans la lutte contre les violences bas\u00e9es sur le genre (VBG) et les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s en sant\u00e9. <\/strong>     <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nous avons \u00e9galement eu le plaisir de retrouver une partenaire de longue date de l'agence du projet Pour Elles : Sport et culture et \u00e9galement intervenante lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie des 10 ans d'Expertise France en f\u00e9vrier 2025, G\u00e9raldine Tob\u00e9. Artiste plasticienne, connect\u00e9e en direct depuis Kinshasa, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC), elle nous a notamment pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 son projet<strong> \"Handicap Mental\", qui utilise l\u2019art comme outil psychoth\u00e9rapeutique pour accompagner les personnes marginalis\u00e9es et briser les tabous autour de la sant\u00e9 mentale des femmes en Afrique de l'Ouest. <\/strong>  <\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En deuxi\u00e8me partie d'\u00e9mission, nous avons accueilli 4 intervenantes pour \u00e9changer sur l'\u00e9tape apr\u00e8s avoir eu acc\u00e8s aux soins : <strong>les biais existants dans la qualit\u00e9 des soins prodigu\u00e9s<\/strong>. Etaient avec nous en plateau Anne-Sophie Grenouilleau-Albertini, conseill\u00e8re pharmaceutique \u00e0 la Haute Autorit\u00e9 de Sant\u00e9 (HAS) et r\u00e9dactrice du rapport \u00ab Sexe, genre et sant\u00e9 \u00bb (2020), et Prof. Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent, Cheffe Sage-femme \u00e0 la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale des sages-femmes (ICM), tandis que M\u00e9lanie Samson, Responsable Technique Senior, Sant\u00e9 des Femmes \u00e0 la Fondation mondiale de la Chirurgie, et Kady Kourouma, Responsable Offre de services Sant\u00e9 sexuelle et reproductive chez Solthis, \u00e9taient connect\u00e9es depuis Gen\u00e8ve et Abidjan. Cette table-ronde a permis \u00e0 Anne-Sophie Grenouilleau-Albertini de souligner pour elle l'importance de distinguer les notions de sexe (biologique, anatomique et chromosomique) et genre (social) afin de<strong> concevoir des politiques de sant\u00e9 plus justes et inclusives<\/strong> de toutes les populations mais \u00e9galement des actions de la HAS pour<strong> lutter contre les biais de genre dans la recherche et au sein du corps m\u00e9dical<\/strong>, comme le d\u00e9ploiement de campagnes de sensibilisation. Prof. Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent a, elle, mis en avant <strong>les disparit\u00e9s criantes dans les taux de mortalit\u00e9 \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle mondiale<\/strong> (1 sur 100 000 en Norv\u00e8ge contre 1 000 pour 100 000 au Tchad par exemple) et le travail de l'ICM pour former et ainsi donner aux sages-femmes dans les pays \u00e0 faibles revenus plus de pouvoir d'agir pour am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des soins maternels. Repr\u00e9sentant la Fondation mondiale de la Chirurgie, M\u00e9lanie Samson a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 l'approche holistique et centr\u00e9e sur les femmes de son organisation dans ses pays d'intervention comme le Kenya, le N\u00e9pal ou le Nig\u00e9ria, et <strong>sa lutte pour d\u00e9stigmatiser l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la c\u00e9sarienne ou encore pour briser le tabou de la d\u00e9pression post-partum<\/strong>.
