N.R.B.C. stands for nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical. Four letters to evoke threats, often invisible and elusive, that raise legitimate concerns due to their potential impact on public health, the environment, and national security. How can we prepare for them, detect them, and respond to them?

Expertise France has been contributing to the European CBRN risk mitigation policy for over 10 years, playing a key role in bringing together expertise in this sector through the “CBRN Centres of Excellence Initiative”. This EU instrument, created in 2010, aims to strengthen cooperation between governments and international partners to effectively combat CBRN risks, with the aim of developing a common risk reduction policy. Expertise France has implemented around twenty of the Initiative’s 108 projects on the Atlantic and East African coasts, as well as in Central Asia, both with the EU and other donors.
