Sport and development
What are the impacts on the field in response to the sustainable development goals ?
Sport is emerging as a powerful catalyst for development, transcending cultural and national boundaries to become a vehicle for inclusion, peace, equality and empowerment.
It's a tool that transcends stadiums and pitches to directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. More than physical activity, sport embodies universal values and is a powerful lever for sustainable development.
As Paris prepares to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games -the world's biggest sporting event with an audience of over 4 billion people- our panel of experts will explore the topic of sport and development.
What role does sport really play in meeting development challenges?
How can sport be better used as a lever for social impact?
