Audrius Bitinas

Audrius Bitinas is a lawyer by training and holds a doctorate in social sciences (management). He currently works as Lithuania's Deputy Minister of Social Protection and Labor and at Vilnius University's Faculty of Law, and also participates in various international projects in the field of social protection and labor (including the recent Expertise France project on the development of Georgia's social code). He is the author of numerous scientific articles and books, and his areas of research cover social security, labor law, gender equality, non-discrimination and European Union social law. Previously, Audrius Bitinas worked at the Lithuanian National Social Security Fund (as Head of the Legal Department); at the Lithuanian Ministry of Social Protection and Labor (as Deputy Minister and responsible for the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the fields of social protection and labor). He has also worked as a lawyer and as Secretary General of the Lithuanian Bar Association. Audrius Bitinas studied at Vilnius University (Lithuania), Université Jean Moulin Lyon III (France) and École Nationale Supérieure de Sécurité sociale (EN3S) in France.
